Australian Card Conventions terms and conditions

1Event details

The ACC Gold Coast Card Convention will be held at Aquis Park Event Centre, Gold Coast, Queensland, on 26 and 27 September 2026.

Event dates, opening hours, activities, exhibitors, special guests, schedules and venue arrangements may be changed where reasonably necessary.

2Conditions of entry

Entry is subject to:

• presentation of a valid ticket, pass, wristband, accreditation or other proof of entitlement;
• compliance with these Terms and Conditions;
• compliance with venue rules and all lawful directions;
• any applicable age, identification or ticket-category requirements; and
• any reasonable security or safety checks required by the Organiser or venue.

Tickets and passes that have been altered, duplicated, counterfeited, cancelled or obtained fraudulently will not be accepted.

Wristbands, passes and accreditation must not be transferred or shared unless expressly permitted by the Organiser. Lost or damaged wristbands may not be replaced.

Re-entry may be permitted where the attendee retains the required wristband, pass or other proof of entry. Re-entry remains subject to venue capacity and security requirements.

3Right to refuse entry or remove attendees

The Organiser and venue reserve the right, on reasonable and lawful grounds, to refuse entry to or remove any person who:

• does not hold a valid ticket or pass;
• refuses to comply with these Terms and Conditions or a lawful direction;
• behaves in a threatening, abusive, violent, disruptive or unsafe manner;
• harasses, intimidates or discriminates against another person;
• appears unduly intoxicated or affected by illegal drugs;
• possesses a prohibited item;
• engages in theft, fraud, counterfeiting or other unlawful conduct;
• damages property or interferes with Event operations;
• enters a restricted or staff-only area without permission;
• creates a risk to the safety, security or enjoyment of others; or
• has previously been excluded from the Event or venue.

A person who is removed or refused entry because of their conduct, breach of these Terms or failure to comply with a lawful direction will not normally be entitled to a refund.

Any refusal of entry or removal will be applied consistently and in accordance with applicable anti-discrimination and other laws.

4Behaviour and respectful conduct

ACC is intended to be a safe, welcoming and family-friendly convention.

Attendees must treat visitors, vendors, guests, performers, volunteers, venue employees and Event staff respectfully.

The following conduct is prohibited:

• violence, threats, fighting or aggressive behaviour;
• bullying, stalking, intimidation or unwanted physical contact;
• sexual harassment or sexually inappropriate conduct;
• discriminatory, hateful or vilifying conduct;
• abusive, obscene or excessively disruptive language;
• deliberately obstructing aisles, exits, vendor areas or Event activities;
• interfering with another person’s purchases, trades or participation;
• impersonating staff, vendors, guests or security personnel;
• throwing objects or deliberately creating a safety hazard; and
• conduct that unreasonably disrupts or diminishes another attendee’s enjoyment of the Event.

Serious incidents may be reported to venue security or Queensland Police.

5Dress code and costumes

Attendees must wear appropriate clothing and footwear suitable for a public, family-friendly indoor event.

Clothing, costumes, signs or accessories displaying threatening, discriminatory, sexually explicit or seriously offensive material may not be permitted.

Costumes must not:

• create a safety or trip hazard;
• obstruct aisles, exits or another person’s vision;
• contain sharp edges or dangerous components;
• imitate Event, venue, police, emergency-service or security uniforms in a misleading manner; or
• prevent the wearer from being identified when reasonably requested by staff or security.

Masks and/or helmets may be worn as part of a costume but must be removed when reasonably requested for identification, age verification or security purposes.

The Organiser may request that an attendee alter, cover or remove an unsafe or inappropriate item before entering or remaining at the Event.

6Prohibited items

Unless expressly authorised, the following must not be brought into the Event:

• firearms, ammunition, knives or other weapons;
• realistic imitation firearms or weapons;
• sharpened, metal or operational costume weapons;
• explosives, fireworks or flares;
• illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia;
• hazardous chemicals, flammable substances or compressed gases;
• laser pointers;
• drones or remotely operated aircraft;
• items intended to cause injury, alarm, disruption or property damage;
• unauthorised alcohol;
• animals other than accredited assistance animals; and
• any item prohibited by the venue or considered by security to present an unreasonable safety risk.

Approved costume props must be lightweight, blunt, non-functional and clearly identifiable as props. Security may inspect or require the removal of any prop.

7Bag and security checks

To help protect attendees and the valuable collectibles present at the Event, bags, containers, costumes and personal belongings may be subject to reasonable inspection as a condition of entry or re-entry.

Attendees may decline an inspection; however, the Organiser or venue may then refuse entry or re-entry where the inspection is reasonably required for safety or security.

Security checks do not make the Organiser responsible for an attendee’s belongings or guarantee that theft or loss will not occur.

8Theft, fraud and counterfeit goods

Theft, attempted theft, fraud, deliberate misrepresentation, ticket fraud and knowingly dealing in stolen or counterfeit goods are strictly prohibited.

Suspected incidents should be reported immediately to Event staff or venue security. The Organiser may preserve relevant CCTV, transaction details or other evidence and provide it to police or another lawful authority.

Attendees must not take enforcement action themselves, physically detain another person or make public accusations that could place others at risk. Concerns should be referred to security or police.

ACC does not independently authenticate, grade, certify or guarantee products offered by vendors or attendees unless expressly stated otherwise.

9Personal belongings and valuable collectibles

Attendees are responsible for safeguarding their own property, including trading cards, sealed products, memorabilia, cash, electronic devices and personal belongings.

Valuable items should remain attended and securely stored at all times. Items must not be left unattended on tables, chairs or in public areas.

To the extent permitted by law, the Organiser and venue are not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings unless caused by their negligence or other breach of law.

Lost property should be delivered to the Event information desk. Unclaimed items will be handled in accordance with the venue’s lost-property procedure.

10Purchases, sales and trades

Unless expressly authorised by the Organiser:

• commercial selling may only be conducted by registered ACC vendors from their allocated booth;
• attendees must not operate an unapproved stall, solicit customers or distribute commercial promotional material;
• attendees must not sell products in aisles, entrances, hospitality areas or other common spaces; and
• organised breaking, raffles, auctions or promotional activities require prior approval.

Personal trades between attendees are undertaken at the participants’ own discretion and risk. Attendees should inspect and verify an item before completing a purchase or trade.

Each vendor is responsible for its products, descriptions, prices, refund policies, consumer-law obligations and representations. Questions or disputes concerning a vendor transaction should first be directed to that vendor.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.

11Children and young people

ACC is a family-friendly event; however, parents and guardians remain responsible for the supervision, safety and behaviour of children in their care.

Children under 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult unless the Organiser expressly approves otherwise.

Children must not be left unattended. Event staff do not provide childcare or assume parental responsibility.

Adults must not photograph or record a child who is not in their care in a targeted or intrusive manner without permission from the child’s parent or guardian.

12Alcohol, smoking and illegal substances

Alcohol may only be purchased and consumed within authorised licensed areas and in accordance with venue licensing requirements.

Proof of age may be required. Alcohol will not be supplied to minors or persons who are unduly intoxicated or disorderly. Licensed venue staff may refuse service or require a person to leave in accordance with Queensland liquor laws.

Smoking and vaping are permitted only in designated areas.

The possession, use, supply or sale of illegal drugs is prohibited and may be reported to police.

13Photography and recording

General personal photography and recording are permitted, provided they:

• do not interfere with Event activities or obstruct aisles;
• do not involve prohibited equipment;
• respect reasonable requests not to be photographed;
• are not intrusive, threatening or inappropriate; and
• do not infringe another person’s privacy, intellectual property or other legal rights.

Commercial photography, professional filming, live broadcasting, media activity and the use of tripods, lighting rigs or substantial recording equipment require prior written approval.

Official photographers and videographers may operate throughout the Event. Images and recordings may be used to promote ACC through its website, social media, advertising and future Event materials.

Where reasonably practicable, attendees who do not wish to be the identifiable focus of official photography should notify the photographer or the Event information desk. Separate consent should be obtained for staged interviews, testimonials or featured promotional photographs, particularly where children are involved.

14Intellectual property

Event branding, artwork, signage, mascots, graphics, videos and promotional material remain the property of the Organiser or their respective owners.

Attendance does not grant permission to reproduce, sell, modify or commercially exploit ACC intellectual property.

Vendors and attendees must respect the trademarks, copyrights and intellectual property rights of trading card publishers, sports organisations, artists, manufacturers and other rights holders.

15Accessibility and assistance animals

The Organiser aims to provide an accessible and inclusive Event.

Attendees who require accessibility assistance are encouraged to contact ACC before the Event so reasonable arrangements can be considered.

Accredited assistance animals are permitted in accordance with applicable law and venue requirements. Pets and emotional-support animals that are not recognised assistance animals may be refused entry.

16Health, safety and emergencies

Attendees must:

• follow safety signs and reasonable staff directions;
• keep aisles, doorways and emergency exits clear;
• report hazards, injuries or suspicious activity promptly;
• comply with evacuation and emergency procedures; and
• avoid conduct likely to endanger themselves or others.

In an emergency, attendees must follow directions from venue staff, security personnel and emergency services.

The Organiser may introduce reasonable health or safety measures where required by law, public authorities, the venue or prevailing circumstances.

17Event changes, postponement and cancellation

The Organiser may make reasonable changes to Event schedules, exhibitors, guests, activities, floor layouts, opening times or other advertised features.

The appearance of a particular vendor, guest, activity or attraction is not guaranteed unless expressly included as a specific condition of the ticket.

If the Event is cancelled, postponed, relocated or significantly changed, ticket holders will be advised of their available remedies in accordance with the ticket terms and the Australian Consumer Law. Depending on the circumstances, this may include a refund, replacement ticket, transfer or credit.

Reasonable booking, payment-processing or delivery fees may be treated separately where permitted by law and clearly disclosed at the time of purchase.

18Ticket refunds and transfers

Change-of-mind refunds are not available unless otherwise stated or required by law.

Tickets may only be transferred or resold through a method authorised by the Organiser or ticketing provider. Tickets must not be resold at an inflated price or used for unauthorised promotions, competitions or commercial packages.

Any refund entitlement is subject to the Australian Consumer Law and the terms disclosed when the ticket was purchased.

19Liability

Attendees enter and participate in the Event at their own risk, subject to the Organiser’s obligations under applicable law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Organiser is not liable for:

• loss or damage caused by an attendee’s own actions;
• loss, theft or damage to unattended personal property;
• transactions or disputes between attendees and independent vendors;
• changes to individual exhibitors, guests or activities; or
• circumstances outside the Organiser’s reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, statutory right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.

20Property damage

A person who intentionally, recklessly or negligently damages the venue, Event equipment, vendor property or another person’s belongings may be required to pay the reasonable cost of repair or replacement and may be removed from the Event.

21Advertising, petitions and promotional activity

Unauthorised advertising, leafleting, sampling, petitioning, fundraising, surveying, busking or solicitation is prohibited within the Event and its controlled entry areas.

Approved sponsors, vendors and exhibitors may only conduct promotional activities within the scope of their agreement with ACC.

22Venue capacity and temporary closures

Entry and re-entry remain subject to venue capacity, safety requirements and emergency directions.

The Organiser may temporarily restrict access to particular areas or activities to manage crowd numbers, queues, emergencies or safety concerns.

23Privacy

Personal information collected through ticket purchases, registrations, competitions, incident reports or Event enquiries will be handled in accordance with the ACC Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws.

Information may be disclosed to the venue, ticketing providers, emergency services, police, insurers or other parties where reasonably necessary, authorised or required by law.

24Complaints and incident reporting

Safety concerns, inappropriate behaviour, suspected theft and other incidents should be reported promptly to the Event information desk, security personnel or an ACC representative.

Complaints submitted after the Event should include sufficient information for the matter to be investigated, including the date, approximate time, location and names or descriptions of the people involved.

25Changes to these Terms

The Organiser may update these Terms where reasonably necessary. The version applying to a ticket purchase will be the version made available at the time of purchase, subject to any later change required by law or reasonably necessary for safety and Event operation.

Material changes will be communicated where reasonably practicable.

26Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. The parties submit to the jurisdiction of the courts and tribunals of Queensland and any courts entitled to hear appeals from them.
